Silver Creek Holsteins, oil of canvas, 6X8"

Another tough day at the office.  You guys gotta get out and try this.  Way too much fun.

Thia was changing morning light, and I chased it a bit, from 10 to 11 AM, but in the end it came out alright.  The little ditty cows (I'm only on 6X8" for heavens sake, so you have to cut me some slack)were a little chanllenging, but I just tried them once, then left them alone.

Get out there and paint while we still have some weather, people!  It's not to late!  In fact, I think this is the best plein air time of the year, no bugs, usually no wind,  no sweltering sun.  Not a bad way to spend a few hours.

Happy painting, pilgrim.

  2. I love this! You are right, this is the best time to get outdoors and paint! Love it. Those are very cool tiny cows. It's all you needed to say about them. Paint on!

  3. Thanks Kathryn and Elaine. I do love the fall palette - the greens are warmer, and then there are the orange and red leaved trees. People are burning stuff in the fall and it makes for greater aerial perspective. It's all grist for the mill.

    Best,
    Gaye

  4. Gaye, I had a blast at the Painting a Day workshop and learned so much. I have been to many workshops and have never seen so many improve so much in just 3 days. It was amazing. I look forward to having you conduct a plein air workshop one day in the beautiful Kootenays - and at Inspiring Minds of course! Hope you have a great trip home.
